Simply by adding your name to our ranks, you are sending a message to lawmakers, politicians, grantors, real estate developers, landlords, journalists, audience members and fellow artists that independent theater is a vital resource worthy of serious attention and respect. Membership is available to companies, venues and individuals who have been involved in at least three productions in theaters of 99 seats or less in New York City. Membership to the League of Independent Theater is 100% free. This means there is no cost to join and there are no dues of any kind. Help agitate and advocate for this vital theater sector.

We have 2 types of membership:
Artist/Professional: any individual who has participated as a producer, writer, director, designer or member of the cast or crew in 3 or more stage productions in theaters of up to 99 seats in New York City. Voting Rights: 1 vote per Member.
Company/Venue: any organization or venue that has produced or presented 3 or more stage productions in theaters of up to 99 seats in New York City and has an annual operating budget of less than $5 million; or any theater service organization that primarily supports companies and artists working in theaters of up to 99 seats in New York City. Voting Rights: 2 votes per Member.
